Javier Erazo, 21, was sentenced to four years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release on Friday, Oct. 25.
Prosecutors said Atlantic City police learned that Erazo was traveling to the park on Tuesday, June 25 to have sex with a 13-year-old girl he met through Snapchat. Officers found Erazo with the teen near Kingston and Sunset avenues.
Investigators said Erazo admitted to having sexually explicit chats through Snapchat and the online video game Roblox. He also confessed to trying to have sex with her.
Erazo was charged with luring (enticing a child by various means). He pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 22.
During the investigation, police said Erazo made "incriminating statements" about another case where he was accused of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl when he was 16 in March 2019. He was also given charges in that case.
Erazo was sentenced in the luring case on Thursday, Oct. 24. As part of his sentence, he'll have to register as a sex offender and receive lifetime parole supervision.
